Justin May is a third-generation operating engineer that started Southern Illinois Excavators, LLC in 2020. He graduated from the IUOE Local 318 Apprenticeship in 2014, and worked in the field and then served as a training instructor for Local 318 before starting his own business. Justin’s dad, Shannon May, works alongside Justin and adds over 40 of years experience as an operating engineer.

Justin and his wife, Courtney, have two sons, Easton and Ryder. His lifetime goal has been to own and sustain his business for his boys.
